In today’s blog I am going to share a few more college admission insights that I have determined to be quite significant for students about to start their college application process.
- Students have to apply to more colleges now days because of the elusive nature of college admission decisions.
- It is a great idea to have students work on their applications over the summer, and have them completed by the fall.
- Get standardized testing done early, if possible by the end of the junior year.
- “Getting into college” starts in ninth grade. This is the best time to start pursuing a passion and committing to academic excellence.
- Colleges primarily look at the GPA and other pertinent factors from ninth through eleventh grades only.
- Beware of “Facebook” entries! They may be looked at by someone in admissions.
- A display of enthusiasm towards the college is an important factor in the admissions process.
Okay, hopefully that will help everyone with some basics.
Remember… the most common mistake students make on their college application is not taking it seriously enough!
